Let’s go to Lanzarote
Lanzarote or Lanza is a Spanish Island, and is in the Atlantic Ocean along with other Canary Islands.
The first recorded name of the island was given by the Italian cartographer Angelino Dulcert.
We rode camels all the way up the mountain…
I didn’t say to my friend Fernando but I was scared & impressed by these massive beasts!
They look so big in front of your eyes that you can’t play fool with them.
Lanzarote is believed to have been the first Canary Island to be visited.
The first known record came from Roman author Pliny the Elder in the encyclopaedia Naturalis Historia on an expediation to the Canary Islands.
In 1336, a ship arrived from Lisbon under the guidance of Lancelotto Malocello. Lancelotto gave his name to the Spanish Island.
The first European settlement in the Canary Islands appeared to be around the 15th century in the area known as “El Rubicon”.
The island had very arch conditions of living and was hit by a series of volcanic eruptions, producing more than 20 new volcanoes in a stretch of 18 kilometers.
The Island has a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve proctected site status and according to the Financial Times, scandal happened between the president of Lanzarote, the former mayor of Arrecife and more than 20 politicians in connection with illegal building permits along Lanzarote’s coastline.
