After our long and amazing trip through the Blue Mountains, I decided to get back to Sydney and to know more of it. The city of Sydney is not the capital city of Australia as a lot of people will think, however it has a lot of beauty and brings a lot to people.

Sydney is a great place to live and work !

The Sydney area has been inhabited by indigenous Australians for more than 25,000 years. Apparently the first people to live in Australia are known were indigenous Australians and they lived in the Sydney area.

The first meeting between the native Australians and the British happened in 1770 with Lieutenant James Cook.

A Great City

I was happy to getting to know more about the Australian culture. Australia was considered as a new land for Britain to send its convicts after the independence of America. Australia was not considered as pretty or resourceful but simply as a land of desert with indigenous living on it.

I went kayaking for a day as I used to do a lot of sport. I used to kayak when I was younger, and I really missed doing it!

Therefore, with new mates found on the way, we went for a trip kayaking around the city.

Happy to do what you do

If you are looking to spend some nice time in Australia, you should think of a visa.

However you should be aware that this visa is only applicable for young people who want to go on holiday and work in Australia for up to a year.

The Beauty Of Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach was a great place to look at from our kayak. We stopped for a while because we were tired of kayaking all day long!

The nice beach of Bondi is incredible. The people are nice, the beach is sunny almost always and I had a delightful time relaxing on the beach after a long day kayaking around Sydney.

During the night, we stayed at the Original Backpackers Hostel. We had a great time sleeping there as we met other backpackers as well.

I met some friends during my time at the Original Backpackers. It is a great time to meet new people and to see we share a lot in common.

Hostel Tips:

  • Avoid hostels that don’t provide lockers for your luggages
  • HostelBookers & are good sites to find a hostel

As a solo-traveler, it is always challenging to meet new people. That is why I always use hostels when I’m traveling. The only drawback you can find with hostels is the lack of privacy, however if you are ready to cope with it, hostels are awesome.

What was the coolest hostel you’ve ever slept in? Tell me a message in the comments below!
