We can always talk about Australia and its lovely territories. The only thing you can’t miss out while traveling through Australia is the Great Barrier Reef.

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the best place I have ever seen and is recognized officialy as the world’s largest coral reef.

The Great Barrier Reef has a great story and it includes great Islands. It reaches from Torres Strait to the south coast of Papua New Guinea.

Inside the Great Barrier Reef you can find a diversity of life, including many endangered species… thirty species of whales, and dolphins have been found and recorded including the dward minke whale, Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin, and the humpback whale.

After our long and great amazing trip through the Outback, I journeyed to the westcoast of Australia and decided to realize one of my best dream which is Scuba diving.

The Endangered Species

Did you know that the Great Barrier Reef is dying ?

Turtles have inhabited within the oceans for more than 100 million years and some of them reside within the Great Barrier Reef.

These creatures can be seen as incredibly slow on the land but have you seen how fast they can be in the water?

While snorkeling you can see different species and the good thing is that sea turtles are amazing swimmers. However plastic bags are thrown into the water very easily and cause terrible effect on the eco-system. A lot of sea turtles are natural predator and like to eat marine stingers but sometimes it happens that they confuse plastic bags with jelly fish…

The result is not so good as they are dying of slow and painful death caused by plastic bags stuck in their organs.

Researchers have found that some of Queensland beaches have been strewn with ailing turtles. It is terrible to see that happening, look at these amazing Sea Turtles on pictures above and below.

When you travel, you also become more aware of the impact you have on society and wildlife…

Save The Trees

However keep it mind to be always positive and I am sure we will do our best to protect better the environment and  the wildlife.

A Big Plus To this Adventure

The Cod Hole and The Ribbon Reefs are amazing places to go scuba diving. Any diver will agree on the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and Cod Hole and the Ribbon Reefs are included.

I love Scuba diving.jpgI love the Great Barrier Reef

Scuba diving is a great experience and scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef is something you have to do it more than once in your life.

I have compiled just below a list of interesting things to have if you want to go snorkeling or scuba diving.

  • The Basics Mask

The mask helps to create an air space in front of your eyes that can be greatly used under water. The nose pocket is also great because it allows you to equalize the air pressure in your mask as you go deeper.

  • Snorkel

A snorkel is a simple curved tube that lets you breathe while floating. It is greatly used by kids or people who don’t want to go too deep. The main use of a snorkel for a diver is to keep air in your tank while floating.

  • Fins

Fins are used to move faster through water. If you want to move and follow fishes you need a good set of flippers too. They are usually comfortable and efficient to use as you will get to use them easily. Use your leg muscles while moving will translate into efficient movement through water.

  • Exposure Protection Suits

Exposure suits are used while scuba diving or snorkeling. It insulates you against the cooling effect of water. The thickness and type of exposure protection will greatly depend of the suit. It keeps water out and provide insulation against heat loss.

An Epic Experience

Scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef is a natural wonder that must be seen.

This beauty has so many aspects to show you and immersing yourself is the best experience you can have.  The Great Barrier is probably so big that it is impossible to explore everything at once and stretching from Cape York Peninsula to the Southern Great Barrier Reef.

I love this place and I wish I can go back more often to this wonder. At least I can show to my readers a new place to explore.
