Is Happiness The Real Meaning Of Our Life?
I truly believe that we all want to be happy.
“The very purpose of life is to be happy.” – The Dalai Lama
Happiness refers to the Greek concept of a good and simple life. For a long time happiness research has been conducted to recognize the importance and relevance of being happy as universal goal.
When I travel I embrace my fears…
Travel is great for lots of reasons, it can increase your happiness, your mental well-being, and your confidence. Traveling can make you a happier person by building your self-confidence, providing yourself great pleasures & experiences as memories. Traveling brings people together as they soon or later realize that life is a simple journey and not a mere destination.
I feel happier when I’m gaining insights, memories and experiences. I also like to challenge my boundaries. Travel is the perfect remedy for happiness, as it allows yourself to experience different cultures, people & foods.
I like to step out of my comfort zone and I’ve learned so much about the world & about myself…
Mélanie To, a good friend of mine, an Erasmus student, a traveler and a part time student once replied to my email when I asked her what makes her happy when she travels:
“I’m traveling right now because it feels as it is the right time to do it, and yes I am very happy. I am in Osnabrueck, Germany and learning about the German culture and appreciating a new culture. I always learned nice things by traveling, met great people, discovered new cultures. Traveling brought me a lot in my life or everything… If I didn’t travel, I may never had this understanding that I have today. I had once a great time meeting local people in Perou and was delighted to know them.”
Next time you find yourself stuck in your life, instead of heading out on a shopping center to lift your mood & day, why not putting that money toward a nice trip? Here are some tricks in which travel can make you enjoy life better.
Improve your confidence by dealing with unexpected situations
Traveling brought me a lot and self-confidence is part of it. There is always a time when you have to face unexpected situations in your life. I found traveling was the best to learn how to grow, to better myself & to be more conscious of my life. The reason is probably because when you travel you have to deal frequently with unexpected situations, things can take a positive or negative surprise turn. However, there is a way out and you can always find happiness in your current situation.
You Meet New Friends
It can be hard to swallow but it is easier to make new friends on the road than it is at home. I always found my friends on the road will bring a greater experience than my friend at home. When I am away, it seems that I have less boundaries to meet new friends and am also very curious. Scientists suggest that social interactions make us happier and increasing our social circle means that we have more chance to meet different people, which hopefully leads to more learning…

You Are More Attractive & Interesting
You don’t have to travel on a weekly basis to be an interesting and attractive person. Traveling throws up a lot of crazy situations that brings something on the table. Making someone laugh is an easy way to boost your self-esteem, so hold to those akward moments.
New Experiences Gives Us Great Memories
Traveling is all about new experiences. I will always remember my trip in the Outback when I stood watching the sunlight, the sky turned out to be the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen. Memories of happiness can maintain a feeling of contentment long after the moment has passed. When I was younger I thought a trip was a waste of time and money, now I realize I was wrong!
